Lost or Found a Pet?

Losing a pet is a traumatic experience! The best way to find your pet, however, is to act quickly. If your pet was lost in or near our service area…

  • Visit our Trenton Center (2501 W. Trenton Rd.) to look for your pet in person. More than 10,000 animals pass through our doors each year, so it’s important to visit regularly if your pet is missing. We’re open 2 - 7 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 12 -7 p.m. Friday - Sunday.

  • If you live in City of Edinburg, contact their holding facility to see if they have your pet there: 

    • Address: 1301 N Doolittle Rd, Edinburg, TX 78542

    • Phone: 956-316-2185

    • Shelter hours: 11am-4pm

  • Contact PVAS with any questions

WHAT YOU NEED TO RECLAIM YOUR PET (one of the following)

  • Proof of address (ex. utility bill, an ID, a piece of mail) 

  • Pictures of your pet

  • Facebook picture featuring both you and the pet

There is no fee to reclaim your pet. There is a three-day stray hold on puppies (over 4 months old) only.

Animal Control Officers document the animals they collect. If you believe your pet was collected by mistake, be sure to contact your local Animal Control department. Be sure to provide your address and description of your pet to help identify your pet.
