ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • MicrochippingPVAS provides microchipping at low-cost to help keep families and pets together. Appointments are not required, though we recommend calling in advance. This service is provided at both facilities. In order to microchip:

    • Your pet must be in good health

    • Your pet must be a minimum of 3 months old and/or 4 lbs

    • Dogs must be leashed and/or in carriers

    • Cats must be in carriers

      Microchip Cost is $10 per pet
       

  • Euthanasia: PVAS provides low-cost euthanasia as a service to citizens of contracted municipalities for $25 by appointment. The fee is $50 for citizens of municipalities outside our service area. Please call to arrange a time. 

  • Quarantine: PVAS is a registered quarantine facility, licensed and inspected annually by the Texas Department of State Health Services Zoonosis Control. Animal Control Officers from the municipalities we serve bring animals to be held under quarantine to our Trenton Center facility. PVAS staff will contact owners regarding the specifics of individual quarantine cases.

    NOTE: Call 9-1-1 if a person has been attacked, bitten or scratched by a domestic or wild animal and needs emergency care; if emergency care is not required, call your local municipal animal control department. All animal bites must be reported to your local municipal animal control department.​
