ADOPT A WORKING CAT

Working Cat FAQ

Traditional family homes aren’t for every cat. Working cats are healthy but independent cats available to community members looking for natural pest deterrents. Whether you run a business or maintain a barn or want to keep pests away from your home, we can help you find the perfect working cat for your space.

Benefits: No adoption fee; natural pest control; vaccinated/spayed/neutered; frequently adopted in pairs or threes to keep each other company; ideal for barns, warehouses, churches, factories, breweries, back yards; provides previously homeless animals with a safe place to live; reduce the number of cats killed in shelters.

Requirements: Adopters must provide food, water and necessary veterinary care. Adopters will also need to allow two to four weeks for the cats to acclimate to the new space. PVAS will provide the acclimation enclosure.
