Petco Foundation’s Commitment is Saving Animal Lives in the Valley

Petco Foundation awarded a $1,000,000 grant to Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) in 2018, and that gift has made all the difference.

There’s no way to overstate the lifesaving value of Petco Foundation’s commitment to PVAS and the communities we serve. It was Petco Foundation that referred Best Friends Animal Society to Edinburg to provide sustainable support to our facilities, and ultimately to partner with us in saving lives in the Rio Grande Valley. Their gift has helped to pay for supplies, equipment, facilities improvements, and additional staff. Everything we’ve achieved in the last 22 months can be traced back to their initial support.

And it’s important to recognize the most important impact of their gift – more animals in loving homes. Every animal is more than just a cat or dog that was adopted; they’re family members contributing to lifelong memories and a richer, more fulfilling quality of life for moms, dads, kids, cousins, grandparents… for everyone.

Petco Foundation’s mission says, “Since 1999, we’ve been guided by one single mission: to create a better world for animals and the people who love and need them. And it all begins with love.”

From the pets, families, staff, volunteers, and supporters of Palm Valley Animal Society:

Thank you, Petco Foundation. Truly.

About the Petco Foundation: The Petco Foundation believes that every animal deserves to live its best life. Since 1999, they’ve invested more than $260 million in lifesaving animal welfare work to make that happen. With more than 4,000 animal welfare partners, they inspire and empower communities to make a difference by investing in adoption and medical care programs, spay and neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through their Think Adoption First program, they partner with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations across the country to increase pet adoptions. So far, they’ve helped more than 6 million pets find their new loving families, and they’re just getting started. Visit petcofoundation.org to learn more about how you can get involved.

Palm Valley Animal Society receives thousands of cats and dogs every year.
